somewhere my grandma used to tell me stories about her childhood, during the war. She would talk about the terrifying rumors and the terrors of the night. When I was a child, I thought she was exaggerating, but now I realize how real and dark that period was. The idea that people could be so cruel to each other just because of their beliefs is absolutely mind-boggling. I mean, what kind of twisted mind would come up with such an idea? But you know, friend, I think it's more about our own flaws as human beings. Yes, maybe shortage of education, maybe cultural misunderstandings, but most of all, I suspect it's just pure evil. Because even if you remove all the external factors, evil is still evil. And evil is something that can never be excused or justified. And look, I'm not a historian or a philosopher; I don't have all the answers. But what I do know is that we need to keep learning from history, we need to keep reminding ourselves that we are not just products of our circumstances; we have free will, and we can choose to do good, or bad. Because the power of choice is what makes us human, amidst all our flaws and mistakes. And if we forget that, then history is doomed to repeat itself.
